Lions Mane

I first learned to sing

in order to tether

the present, the past, 

and future together

I carried the note

as strong and as steady

with thoughts of a day

when i might be ready

to spring from the pew

and take to the stage

clothed with the grace

of cedar and sage

my songs being scent

to remind who is near

loves divine mystery

alive and well
